Event Blurb
Greenborough/EcoReps are planning to host a cooking competition between many of the campuses’ premier cooking institutions and groups, including Potluck House, CU Culinary Society, NOM^3, Mimi’s Truffles, Feel Good CU, and teams of people from the Columbia community who want to join in the fun. Battle for the title of campus’ best chef!
The idea is that we set up Greenborough/Potluck house rooms into course categories, such as: Breakfast, Hors D’oeuvers, Salads/Soup/Breads, Entres, Desserts, and the mysterious “Creativity Room.” Then we have the food being prepared match certain types of environmentally-friendly guidelines or raise questions about environmental issues, whether that is local, organic, farmer’s market, food desserts, no chemical additives etc. Each group could enter a dish in any category it wanted, and with that entry present why the dish is environmentally-responsible/what issue it raises. EcoReps is going to fund each entering group with a stipend to purchase materials and Greenborough will be doing research on food issues to help participants. After the groups cook we’ll invite the Columbia community in and they will judge the food to see who wins!
